About the author: Emma Lyons is a trainee patent attorney in our Manchester office. Emma is working towards her UK
Appleyard Lees has over twenty trainee patent and trade mark attorneys in various stages of qualification. It takes around four years to train as a patent attorney (in both the UK and in Europe) and around two years to train as a trade mark attorney. It is a challenging but rewarding qualification process. Most of the training takes place “in-house” under the supervision of a qualified attorney, though our trainees will also attend external courses and seminars.
In this blog we hope to give you an idea of what life is like for trainees at Appleyard Lees, as well as provide an insight into the profession in general. We’d appreciate your feedback and you can get in touch with us at communications@appleyardlees.com.
